PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner sensor, capable of reducing the number of assembling processes and moreover, capable of accurately housing a differential transformer in a case. SOLUTION: The toner sensor is equipped with a coil bobbin 31, comprising a thermoplastic resin and a case 2 comprising a hard thermoplastic resin, including a base part 21 for housing the differential transformer 3 containing the coil wound around the coil bobbin 31, a detection head part 23 for housing the differential transformer 3 and a circuit board 4 having a signal processing circuit for outputting a control signal, based on the signal outputted from the differential transformer 3. The base part 21 has boss parts 24a and 24b, bonded integrally to the coil bobbin 31 so as to pierce the coil bobbin 31, and the boss parts 24a and 24b are welded so as to be substantially housed in the case 2.
