PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera capable of displaying a photographed image with an optimum size. SOLUTION: An LCD 24 is provided on the rear side of the digital camera 10 and displays the photographed image. When a user does not touch the LCD 24, the LCD 24 displays the photographed image fully on its screen. When the user touches the LCD 24 with its finger, a touch sensor 28 senses a contact position and a display area of the photographed image is determined so as to avoid the contact position. In a first display mode, the display area is determined so as to have an aspect ratio corresponding to the aspect ratio of the photographed image and to maximize the area size, and the photographed image reduced consistent with the display area is displayed. In a second display mode, the display area is determined to be the largest rectangular area and the photographed image, the part of which runs off the display area is trimmed is displayed.
