摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for adjusting the diameter of colloidal gold particles simply and highly precisely without the necessity for expensive equipment and skilled techniques and to provide a colloidal gold solution having a particle diameter in a specified range. SOLUTION: The method for adjusting the diameter of colloidal gold particles comprises estimating the particle size distribution width of the colloidal gold particles by measuring the maximum absorption wavelength and further the ratio (Aλ<SB>X</SB>/Aλ<SB>max</SB>), wherein Aλ<SB>max</SB>is the absorbance of the colloidal gold solution at the maximum absorption wavelength, and Aλ<SB>X</SB>is the absorbance at a wavelength different from the maximum absorption wavelength.
