PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for producing a solid electrolytic capacitor in which leak current is reduced and ESR characteristics are improved. SOLUTION: The process includes producing a solid electrolytic capacitor where a manganese dioxide layer is formed as a solid electrolytic layer on a chemical conversion coating formed on a porous sintered body of a valve action metal by repeating immersion into aqueous solution of manganese nitrate/thermal decomposition processing a plurality of times. The process includes the steps of: forming a solid electrolytic layer comprises a step for forming a first solid electrolytic layer by performing thermal decomposition processing at 230-250°C following to immersion into aqueous solution of manganese nitrate; and forming a second solid electrolytic layer by performing thermal decomposition processing at a temperature higher than the temperature for forming the first solid electrolytic layer following to immersion into aqueous solution of manganese nitrate. Thermal decomposition processing in the step of forming the first solid electrolytic layer has different starting temperature and ending temperature. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
