PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for delivering an article and delivering an article from the device completely. SOLUTION: This conveyance device for article constituted by guiding a transfer element 32 around at least two rollers 35, 36 formed as driving and/or deflection elements has a device allowing the maximum length of a part 33 between wheels on a conveyance side to shift to a delivery position where the part 33 between wheels on the conveyance side is contracted to the maximum length from a passing position provided in the part 33 between wheels on the conveyance side and the reverse and a filling head 18 having a supply element 19 of the article. In the device for filling bar-like articles in which the supply element 19 joins a shaft 21 in a region of a join part 20 and which is provided with a transfer means 23 below having two conveyance elements 24, 25 arranged in the front and rear to each other, the conveyance element 25 is formed as a device 31 described in one of claims 1 to 15.
