PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To update data for controlling an elevator to the latest data while reducing load on a remote monitoring center side of the elevator. SOLUTION: This remote monitoring terminal unit 2a transmits information of the number in the row of the elevator to be controlled by an elevator controller 1a to a remote monitoring center 4. The remote monitoring center 4 transmits a value of the latest version of a program for control corresponding to the number in the row of the elevator indicated by the received information to the remote monitoring terminal unit 2a. If a value of version of a program for control stored in a memory 11 of the elevator controller 1a is different from a value of the latest version from the remote monitoring center 4, the remote monitoring terminal unit 2a demands transmission of data for updating from the remote monitoring center 4. When the remote monitoring terminal unit 2a receives the data for updating transmitted from the remote monitoring center 4 in accordance with the demand, the remote monitoring terminal unit 2a lets it reflect in the program for controlling the elevator stored in the memory 11.
