PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeding device, capable of correcting paper feeding pressure that varies depending on environments or states of paper in accordance with carrying states by adding irregularity information of paper reaching time to a subsequent process due to carrying slip to paper feeding pressure correcting control. SOLUTION: As paper P carried from this paper feeding device D is carried to an image forming part C as a subsequent process, reaching time to detection of paper is counted by a photo interrupter 7 provided on the image forming part C for detection of reach of paper. In a case where the reaching time is longer than prescribed time, a lifting motor 21 is actuated for prescribed time to increase pull quantity of a pressure spring 32, and pushing force between the paper P and a paper feeding roller is increased. Paper feeding pressure is thus increased, while slip quantity of the paper feeding roller 2 to the paper is reduced. The paper reaching time from start of paper feeding up to the image forming part C is thus corrected to be closer to the prescribed time. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
