#CMT# #/CMT# The spring (11) is formed by one or more leaf springs. There are two leaf springs, the second (12) lying on the side of the first spring, which is remote from the head section (10). The spring rests against the end face of the head section, at the end opposite the flange (7). The flange grips behind an edge of a locking strip (5) forming part of the rod-operated catch. The cover rail (2) over the drive rod, includes a slot (6). This has a widening (16) in an open position of the catch, to accept the head section. Elsewhere, this slot is narrower. #CMT# : #/CMT# The leaf springs are aligned to lie along the drive rod. They complete interlocking between the foot (9) and the head section (10) at the mating surfaces (13, 14), and at the upper surface of the cover rail (2). The leaf spring is constructed integrally with a frame surrounding the head section assembly, and closely surrounding the foot. The spring is located in the slot widening (16). It is fastened to the drive rod e.g. by riveting or a catch configuration. It partially surrounds the cover rail. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# A fitting for a rod-operated window catch. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# Use of the leaf spring in this assembly, contributes to low cost manufacture, combined with high stability in use. It is a particularly compact device which is easily mounted. A second leaf spring pre-loads the head section, positively preventing tilting. The catch is secure against unauthorized opening attempts. The required spring component is easily stamped out from spring sheet metal or cut out, using a laser beam.
