An LCD panel and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to block the direct contact between a sealant and a liquid crystal layer, thereby preventing the screen blotch, by forming one or more blocking members between the sealant and the liquid crystal layer. An array substrate(220) has thin film transistors. A color filter substrate(240) is disposed to face the array substrate, and has color filters. A sealant(290) is formed at the edge between the array substrate and the color filter substrate. A liquid crystal layer(270) is interposed between the array substrate and the color filter substrate. A blocking member(255) is formed between the sealant and the liquid crystal layer.
