<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism and a user interface allowing a user to easily perform time authentication for data stored in a file server and to deal with the problem of the expiration date of time authentication without errors by extending the expiration date of time authentication according to user settings before the expiration date comes. <P>SOLUTION: A filer server has the function of extending the expiration date according to user settings, either automatically or after making confirmation.
