<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve distortion in the oscillation waveform of a ring VCO, and phase noise/jitter performance by a simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: An equivalent circuit 10 comprises a differential amplifier 11 (VCO cell C1) composed of loads R1, R2 and NMOS transistors M1, M2; a differential amplifier 12 (VCO cell C3) composed of loads R3, R4 and NMOS transistors M3, M4; the source of the NMOS transistors M1, M2, M3, M4; and a constant-current source I for outputting a constant current.
