STEERING GEAR FOR VEHICLE

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate large transmission torque by instantly connecting a clutch mechanism when abnormality of a steer-by-wire occurs.

SOLUTION: This steering gear for a vehicle is furnished with a first shaft 13 furnished with a gear part 16 along the whole circumference and to rotate in the circumferential direction by operating physical force of an operating member 2, a second shaft 15 supported free to coaxially rotate with the first shaft while internally inserting the first shaft in it and to transmit rotation to a steering mechanism 6, locking bodies 19 arranged at a plurality of points on a circumference of the second shaft 15 opposed to the gear part 16 of the first shaft 13 and provided free to move between a connecting position engaged between tooth parts of the gear part and connecting the first shaft 13 and the second shaft 15 to each other and a cutting position to retreat from between the tooth parts of the gear part and to cut the first shaft 13 and the second shaft 15 and a lock displacing means to displace this locking body 19 to the connecting position or to the cutting position, and the clutch mechanism 8 to mechanically connect the operating member 2 and the steering mechanism 6 to each other is provided on the steering gear for the vehicle.
