PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle driving operation assisting device, which performs appropriate operation reaction control and braking power control according to a traffic environment. SOLUTION: A controller calculates a risk potential showing the access degree of an own vehicle to a forward obstacle and calculates a reaction control instruction value of operation reaction to be generated in an accelerator pedal and a correction quantity of driving power generated in the own vehicle according to the risk potential. A driver's intention of acceleration/deceleration is detected from the operating state of the accelerator pedal, and when the driver's intention shows acceleration, a control pattern is changed to reduce a control operation area. When the own vehicle is traveling in a congested traffic flow, for example, and the own vehicle speed is adjusted by operation of the accelerator pedal, the control operation area is automatically reduced.
