PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an output gradation value calculating device which is suitable for practical use and is capable of precisely obtaining a halftone dot area ratio in outputting on an inputted halftone dot area ratio, and to provide an output gradation value calculation program. SOLUTION: The output gradation value calculating device calculates a second gradation value as an output gradation value, with respect to the first gradation value which is the gradation value for expressing the amounts of the respective color elements of N colors and is an input setting value for outputting. The device comprises: an output gradation value setting part for setting the second gradation value relative to each point on a side, concerning each side of a two-dimensional polygon in an N-dimensional color space, having an N-dimensional coordinates corresponding to the first gradation value; an intersection point calculating part for calculating an intersection point, where a straight line, which is obtained by connecting a point and the vertex of the two-dimensional polygon, is crossed with the side of the two-dimensional polygon concerning the point in the two-dimensional polygon; and an interpolation calculating part for calculating the second gradation value, corresponding to the point in the two-dimensional polygon by interpolation calculation, based on the second gradation value which is set in the output gradation value setting part concerning the intersection point.
