PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air-cooled internal combustion engine in which an O<SB>2</SB>sensor can be protected against foreign matter such as flying pebbles without installing a dedicated part such as a cover, assemblability is increased, and a manufacturing cost is reduced. SOLUTION: This air-cooled internal combustion engine 1 comprises the O<SB>2</SB>sensor 20 measuring an oxygen concentration in exhaust gases.
