PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suction tank in which an increase of noise produced while a suction pump is operated is suppressed, a liquid amount in re-self-feeding is secured, and a non-suction pump can be easily remodeled into a suction pump and vice versa by suppressing a pipe resistance in the suction tank to suppress the lowering of the pump delivery performance of the pump and forming the structure such that air is not accumulated therein and a suction pump having the suction tank. SOLUTION: This suction tank 8 disposed in front of the suction port 3 of a pump casing 2 incorporating the impeller 5 of the suction pump comprises the suction pipe part of a suction side separation tube 12 and the storage tank part of a storage tank 13. The suction tank 8 comprises a passage 16 communicating the suction pipe part with the storage tank part to particularly communicate the upper end inner side of the storage tank 13 to the suction side separation tube 12.
