PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pantile for a roof, which is excellent in resistance against accidental removal, and which secures the great width of the positioning of an obliquely upper pantile with respect to one pantile along the slant of the roof. SOLUTION: In this pantile 10 for the roof, a crosspiece-side cut part 17 and a crosspiece-side recess 22 are provided at a corner between a crosspiece part 13 and a tail part 14 in a corrugated cross-section tile body which is composed of two mountain parts 11 and two flat valley parts 12, and a crosspiece-side retainer piece 19 is provided in the crosspiece-side cut part. An insertion-side cut part 18 and an insertion-side recess 20 are provided at a corner between an insertion part 15 and a head part 16 in the tile body; an insertion-side retainer piece 23 is provided in the insertion-side cut part; a step is provided so that the crosspiece-side retainer piece can be inserted between the recess 20 and the retainer piece 23; and the backside of the crosspiece-side retainer piece and the crosspiece-side recess are formed in such a shape as to be almost flush with each other. When the tile is laid, the insertion-side cut part of the obliquely upper tile is loosely fitted into the crosspiece-side cut part; the crosspiece-side retainer piece gets under the insertion-side recess of the obliquely upper tile; and the insertion-side retainer piece of the obliquely upper tile gets under the crosspiece-side recess.
