PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a liquid level of liquid operating a float. SOLUTION: In a fuel cutoff valve 10, a rise of a liquid level of fuel in a tank raises a float 44, pressing a flapper 70, sliding the flapper 44 and an elastic seal 80 forward, and sealing a sealing portion 22 by the elastic seal 80 to prevent a fuel flow from an opening 22A to an air duct 24 side. The operating direction of the float 44 is different from the sealing direction of the sealing portion 22. This dispenses with provision of the flapper 70 above the upper surface of the float 44 and of the float 44 downward by an amount of the vertical width of the flapper 70, thus enabling to raise the position of the float 44 to increase the liquid level of the fuel operating the float 44.
