PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rigid endoscope capable of obtaining a large visual field angle. SOLUTION: The rigid endoscope 10 picks up a wide angle image formed by an objective optical system 12 inside an insertion part 10a by one first camera 25, and displays it at a first display device M1, and also enlarges a part of the wide angle image in a second image re-forming optical system, picks up it by a second camera 28 and displays it at a second display device M2. Also, when the insertion part 10a is rotated around its axis, the rigid endoscope 10 rotates a Pechan prism 21 provided between a second relay optical system 15 and a semitransparent mirror 22 so as to cancel the rotation of an image generated by the rotation of the insertion part 10a.
