PROCESS FOR PRODUCING 5-HYDROXY-1-ALKYLPYRAZOLE DERIVATIVE

A process for producing a 5-hydroxy-1-alkylpyrazole derivative represented by the general formula (3), which has an electron-attracting group in the 3-position. It is characterized by reacting a ß-keto ester compound represented by the general formula (1) with an alkylhydrazine represented by the general formula (2) under acid conditions. This process improves drawbacks of conventional techniques and enables a 5-hydroxy-1-alkylpyrazole derivative having an electron-attracting group in the 3-position to be produced with satisfactory selectivity in high yield.
