A single-sided laminating machine has a separator unit (14) downstream of the laminator unit (12) which hangs vertically by means of hooks (15). Rollers (18) and (19) within the separator unit rotate faster than a roller (16) which changes the direction of the laminated strip (17) to descend through the separator unit whereby the strip (17) is kept under tension, thereby keeping it flat.
