<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection type image display device which enables a user to surely recognize a temperature abnormality before an internal temperature of a liquid crystal projector reaches a preliminarily determined dangerous level of temperature. <P>SOLUTION: The projection type image display device includes a first means and a second means. The first means has a temperature slightly lower than the preliminarily set dangerous level of temperature set thereto as a threshold for temperature abnormality determination and determines whether a temperature detected by a temperature sensor reaches the threshold for temperature abnormality determination or higher or not. In the case that the temperature detected by a temperature sensor is determined to reach the threshold for temperature abnormality determination or higher, the second means reduces the size of an input image so that a display area of the input image is made smaller than an image display area corresponding to one screen, and then displays a warning message indicative of the temperature abnormality, as a projected image without overlapping the display area of the input image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
