<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce constrained feeling applied to a user, to enable the free swing of the arms of the user in walking, and to provide excellent usability by reducing size in a walking assisting device comprising one or more leg links 2L, 2R to which ground contact members 6 are connected at their lower ends and a load transmission part connected to the upper ends of the leg links and at least a part of the weight of the user is supported by the leg links through the load transmission part. <P>SOLUTION: The load transmission part comprises a seating member 1 for the user to sit thereon in a straddled posture. A connection part 3 to which the upper ends of the leg links 2L and 2R are connected is fitted to the lower surface of the seating member 1.
