<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery improved in a charge state above 4.2 V and, in particular, thermal stability in the vicinity of 4.5 V. <P>SOLUTION: This nonaqueous electrolyte battery uses lithium cobaltate and carbon for a positive electrode active material and a negative electrode active material, respectively. For the lithium cobaltate, a substance prepared by mixing two or more kinds of lithium cobaltate with different elements added therein is used. For the lithium cobaltate, a substance formed of a mixture of lithium cobaltate with a different element supported to particle surfaces and lithium cobaltate with a different element dissolved therein is used; and it is preferable that the different element supported to the surfaces of the lithium cobaltate is Ti; and the different element dissolved in the lithium cobaltate is at least one kind selected from Al and Mg. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
