<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a print system for suppressing the waiting of a user in front of an image reader, especially by executing other jobs received at a printer side in a copy preparation stage, and to provide a method of controlling the printing system. <P>SOLUTION: In copy processing, the setting operation of parameters, such as the designation of the size of a paper sheet and a color mode and image-quality parameter setting, is performed from the operation panel of a scanner 10, and an occupancy notification is transmitted from the scanner 10 to a printer 20, when the key input is detected. The printer 20, having received the occupation notification, shifts to a state (occupancy mode) for receiving only the execution of a copy job from the scanner 10 of an occupancy notification transmission destination, without having to receive the execution of a print job and a copy job from other scanners. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
