PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of preventing a highlight part and a dark part, and a color with high saturation from being saturated and a hue from being changed while correcting the lightness of photographed image data, and to provide an image processing apparatus, an image processing method and an image processing program.

SOLUTION: An image analysis section 71 in an image processing section 7 of the imaging apparatus 100 sets a first lightness correction amount for correcting the lightness of photographed image data on the basis of the lightness of a principal object in the photographed image data and calculates an index representing the level of the dynamic range of the photographed image data. When the calculated index is greater than a prescribed threshold, the first lightness correction amount that is set is weakened to set again the first lightness correction amount, and a second lightness correction amount is set for correcting the lightness of the photographed image data. A lightness correction curve generating section 72 generates a correction curve for converting the photographed image data on the basis of the first and the second lightness correction amounts, and a lightness correction section 73 corrects the lightness of the photographed image data according to the generated correction curve.
