<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a card utilization system by which an IC card can be used in a service area even when a controller arranged in each service area for controlling IC cards fails. <P>SOLUTION: A center server 1 and a plurality of controllers 3, 4 arranged in respective service areas are connected through LAN10. When a card reader/writer 5 under the controller 3 in an area reads and writes information of an IC card 13 a user carries to provide service, if the card reader/writer 5 detects that it cannot communicate with the host controller 3, the communication is switched to connection for using the controller 4 arranged in another service area through LAN10 provided as a bypass to continuously provide the service. In order to achieve this, in the controller 4 substituting for the controller 3, collation master data related to the card reader/writer 5 for collating with master data for personal identification recorded on the IC card 13 is also stored beforehand. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
