<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display which is so visually confirmed as to be united with an object such as an analog gage even though having a simple construction and has an excellent design and to provide a display apparatus for a vehicle using the same. <P>SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display wherein a liquid crystal cell 133x is interposed between two polarizing plates 133y and 133z, holes 133y1, 133y2, 133z1 and 133z2 are provided in the two polarizing plates so that the object disposed on the rear surface side of the liquid crystal display can be visually confirmed from the front surface side of the liquid crystal display. The liquid crystal display is further provided with a backlight plate 134 receiving light from a light source 135 for a backlight and emitting light and holes 134a and 134b are provided in the backlight plate 134 so that the object can be visually confirmed from the front surface side of the liquid crystal display. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
