PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile terminal having a jog dial and a control method thereof with which a function is achieved for making music playback various. SOLUTION: A mobile terminal according to the present invention includes: a display for providing various information and a user interface; a memory for storing data; a rotatable jog dial for a user to implement function operation; a sensor for sensing the rotation of the jog dial to generate a signal corresponding to the operation; an output unit for outputting audio signals; and a controller for carrying out the relevant function in accordance with a signal generated from the sensor.
