PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polishing method using a rotary brush, in which burring and chamfering at a corner portion of a workpiece are easily carried out without variations, by uniforming a load applied to rod members of the rotary brush. SOLUTION: According to the method, a polishing jig 10 is arranged around the workpiece 1 such that a predetermined horizontal gap 11 is defined by the jig 10 on the outside of the workpiece 1 along the periphery of the same, and that the height of the polishing jig 10 is set equal to or slightly lower than the workpiece 1 in a rotation axial direction of a rotation axis 8 of the rotary brush 30. Then the rod members 33 of the rotary brush 30 under rotating operation are abutted on surfaces of the workpiece 1 and the polishing jig 10 via their tips, then the rod members 33 inserted into the horizontal gap 11 between the periphery of the workpiece 1 and the polishing jig 10, are abutted on the corner portion 5 of the surface of the workpiece 1 via their side surfaces, and thus the rotary brush 30 is relatively moved along the surface of the workpiece 1 while rounding the corner portion 5.
