PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleanser which makes it possible to cleanse a urethane resin-based adhesive liquid with water at the ordinary temperature using a nonflamable organic solvent without worrying influence on human bodies, and to provide a method for cleansing with the cleanser. SOLUTION: This cleanser for removing a urethane resin-based adhesive liquid at the ordinary temperature is characterized by containing polypropylene glycol modified with ethylene oxide and having a mol.wt. of 400 to 10,000. The polypropylene glycol modified with the ethylene oxide preferably has a mol.wt. of 1,000 to 4,000. The method for cleansing with the cleanser comprises a process for mixing the urethane resin-based adhesive liquid at the ordinary temperature with the polypropylene glycol modified with the ethylene oxide and having a mol.wt. of 400 to 10,000 to form the hydrophilic mixture, and a process for washing the hydrophilic mixture off with water.
