PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To operate an oxygen pump element with a versatile power source of high voltage and small current, by accumulating potential difference applied to multiple solid electrolytes. SOLUTION: In this oxygen pump element, a metallic foil member 15 has multiple openings, an oxygen ion-conductive solid electrolyte 7 are disposed at the openings, being gas-sealed with the metallic foil member 15 and insulation structure, and a positive electrode membrane 8 and a negative electrode membrane 9 are formed on both faces of the solid electrolyte 7. By providing a conductive membrane to an edge face part of the solid electrolyte 7 of any one of the positive electrode membrane 8 and negative electrode membrane 9, the conductive part is introduce to the other side to set the voltage-applying side to the same direction. The multiple solid electrolytes 7 are constituted to set the positive electrode membrane 8 and negative electrode membrane 9 to be an electrically serial circuit. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
