PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner having a basket body which is easy to be attached to/detached from a dust collecting chamber. SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner is equipped with an electric blower which generates suction wind, the dust collecting chamber 9 which has an opening section, the basket body, a dust collecting section lid 10 which covers the opening section and is freely openable/closable, and a buckle 13 which fastens the dust collecting section lid 10 to the opening section of the dust collecting chamber 9. In this case, the basket body is freely detachably fitted in the dust collecting chamber 9, and has a basket section in which a dust collecting bag 11 for catching dust and dirt is set, and a handle section 14 which lifts the basket section. The handle section 14 is constituted in such a manner that the handle section 14 is freely slidably attached to the basket body, and also, is attached while being urged in the pulling up direction by an urging force, and therefore, when the dust collecting bag 11 is taken out, the dust collecting section lid 10 is lifted by the urging force of the handle section 14 when the buckle 13 is operated, and the dust collecting section lid 10 is made easier to open. At the same time, when the handle section 14 moves upward, a space is formed between the dust collecting bag 11 and the handle section 14, and the basket body can easily be taken out.
