PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a jigsaw puzzle which enables the utilization of it as a practical article while raising the degree of difficulty without increasing the number of pieces even with a simple structure. SOLUTION: The jigsaw puzzle 10 is made up of a mountboard 12 with an opening part and pieces PA-PF. The pieces PA-PF have at least protrusions with a shape of a rectangular part with a circle protruding from its side part or recesses with a shape of that with a cut part of the circle from its side part. When the interval between the center of the circle forming each of the protrusions and the recesses and the center of the side part is made as large as about one-fourth of the diameter of the circle, the pieces obtained can be harder to break with excellent locking function. The rim part of the puzzle is built up with the pieces PA-PE and the pieces PF all with the same shapes are arranged inside. This enables the assembly of the pieces by referring to the symbols or the like alone applied on the surfaces of the pieces, thereby raising the degree of difficulty. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
