HAND-HELD INSTRUMENT FOR ACCESSING BODY INTERIOR REGION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel hand-held surgical instrument used by a physician to gain access to an interior region of a body.

SOLUTION: The hand-held instrument is equipped with a first functional instrument 20 with a first handle 22 including a surface gripped by a first finger and a surface gripped by a second finger to simultaneously grip with at least two fingers and a second functional instrument 40 with a second handle 42 including a surface gripped by a third finger and a surface gripped by a fourth finger to simultaneously grip with at least two fingers. The first functional instrument 20 engages the second functional instrument 40 to form a composite instrument. When the first functional instrument 20 engages the second functional instrument 40, the first handle 22 is coupled with the second handle 42 to form a composite handle fitting together so that the composite surfaces gripped by four fingers are formed.
