PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-transmissive film which has sufficient durability, hardly causes optical irregularities and can provide a polarizer having a satisfactory polarizing characteristic with respect to the light-transmissive film using a mixture consisting of ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer and polyvinyl alcohol polymer.

SOLUTION: The light-transmissive film has such a structure that micro-regions are dispersed in a matrix formed by a water-soluble resin mixture consisting of ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer and polyvinyl alcohol polymer. The polarizer uses the uniaxially stretched light-transmissive film and contains a dichroic light absorbing body in a matrix formed with the water-soluble resin mixture of ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer and polyvinyl alcohol polymer.
