PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera for suppressing the deterioration of the image quality of a reproduced zoom image even if performing digital zoom processing. SOLUTION: The digital zooming method of the digital camera is provided. First, an image sensor obtains a picked-up image of one frame. Then an extracted image being a partial region for configuring part of the picked-up image and acting like a region noticed by zooming is extracted from the picked-up image. Further, digital processing is applied to the extracted image to magnify or reduce the extracted image so that the size of the extracted image is put in a preset image size in an imaging mode so as to generate a zoom image and the zoom image is stored in a storage medium.
