PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection image display apparatus having a lens shift mechanism in which a complex configuration is avoided even in shifting a projection lens unit vertically and horizontally and easy shift operation is ensured. SOLUTION: The projection image display apparatus having the lens shift mechanism includes: a slide base 3 fixed to the housing of the projection image display apparatus; a plate-like lens mounting member 2 accommodated within the slide base 3 so as to be freely slid; the projection lens unit 115 fixed to the lens mounting member 2; a plurality of slide contact portions 2a formed on the lens mounting member 115 so as to project in the direction of an optical axis from the lens mounting member 115; and pressing means 6 for pressing the slide contact portions 2a of the lens mounting member 2 against the slide base 3.
