PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel lid device for further easily performing closing and locking work. SOLUTION: A bar hole 1c is opened in a steel lid body 1 so as to be capable of inserting a head part 20a of a bar 20. An upper part of a locking hook 5 having an engaging projection 5a engageable with a locking projection 2d formed inside a receiving frame 2 for fitting the steel lid body, is movably pivoted in the approaching/separating direction to the receiving frame on a lower part of the bar hole, and the locking hook is energized in the direction for approaching the receiving frame by a torsion spring 7. The engaging projection is formed with following surfaces 5b and 5c slidably following after an edge part and an inner peripheral surface of the receiving frame. When the following surfaces follow after the edge part or the inner peripheral surface of the receiving frame, the locking hook rocks in the separating direction to the receiving frame against elastic force. When the following surfaces do not follow after the edge part or the inner peripheral surface of the receiving frame, the engaging projection of the locking hook engages with the locking projection of the receiving frame by elastic force on the inside of the receiving frame.
