PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonmetallic binding needle (hereinafter called also stitch), such as a paper one, which makes it unnecessary to separate paper from a metal (stitch) and makes it possible to dispose of a book entirely as it is or to utilize it as a material for recycled paper on the occasion of the disposal thereof as trash or the use as the material for the recycled paper, in other words, which can be incinerated or reclaimed together with general paper trash, with the stitch left attached, or can be used as the material for the recycled paper, and to provide a method for binding the paper with the stitch and a device for binding the paper. SOLUTION: A nonmetallic wire rod 20 such as a paper one which is hardened by application of a hardening adhesion component such as an adhesive or by impregnation therewith or the like is bent almost in the shape of a letter U so that a pair of insertion legs 21, 21 be formed, and the insertion legs 21, 21 thus formed are passed through a plurality of sheets of paper 10 to be bound, being supported by needle-like guide bodies 32a, 32b.
