Provided are a coating composition for a photochromic lens which is reduced in drying time and can form a coating by a single coating process, and a photochromic lens prepared by using the composition. The coating composition comprises 20-90 wt% of a silicone-silica-silane compound; 4-38 wt% of an acrylic resin containing an amine group; and 5-41 wt% of a capsulated photochromic dye which is dispersed in methylethylketone. Preferably the acrylic resin containing an amine group is represented by the formula, wherein R1, R2, R3 and R4 are an amine group; and n is an integer of 1-10. The concentration of the capsulated photochromic dye in methylethylketone is 3%. Preferably the lens is selected from a CR-39 lens, a poly(methyl methacrylate) lens and a polycarbonate lens. |
