A method for managing weight by using a weight management system of a refrigerator is provided to offer health management such as weight management to user by using a controller of the refrigerator and help a user easily recognize weight information by displaying the weight information through an avatar. The user operating the refrigerator is recognized(S10), and the refrigerator controller extracts the information of the recognized user(S20). The weight information of the user is generated by measuring the weight of the user with a balance connected to the refrigerator controller(S50). The generated weight information is transferred to the refrigerator controller and the refrigerator controller displays the received weight information to the user(S60). Measurement time information is extracted simultaneously with the user information. The measurement time information of the user is compared with a preset measurement time(S30). If weight measurement time of the user is longer than a predetermined time, the refrigerator outputs guide information, which induces the user to measure weight, in voice or text through a display unit(S40). |
