A method and an apparatus for transmitting an e-mail of a scan image are provided to add an HTML to an attachment file during e-mail transmission, thereby enabling a receiver to check all images at once and providing information(for example, various URLs(Uniform Resource Locators)) useful to the receiver through the HTML. A method for transmitting an e-mail of a scan document comprises the following steps of: transmitting a scanned image document at each page to a network(270) if an e-mail transmission command is received, and separately storing the scanned image(440,480); generating an HTML(HyperText Markup Language) document having the stored entire image information if it is confirmed that an image document of the last page is transmitted(450,460); and transmitting the generated HTML document to the network(270)(470).
