<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an olivine-type lithium-iron multiple oxide exhibiting excellent battery characteristics by using an inexpensive iron compound as raw material; and an electrode active material for a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery having a high discharge capacity and excellent charge and discharge characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing the lithium-iron multicomponent oxide expressed by LiFePO<SB>4</SB>of an olivine-type structure comprises subjecting a slurry containing raw material components comprising at least an iron compound containing iron having a valence number of 3 and a carbon-containing compound having hydrophilicity in the iron compound containing iron having a valence number of 3, the carbon-containing compound, a lithium compound and a phosphorous compound and a dispersant to a finely crushing treatment using a bead mill, then obtaining aggregated particles by aggregating obtained finely crushed particles, and heat treating the obtained aggregated particles at 300-1,150°C. In the case when the slurry does not contain a stoichiometric amount of lithium compound and/or phosphorous compound, required to synthesize LiFePO<SB>4</SB>, the lithium compound and/or phosphorous compound is added to the aggregated particles, and the resulting mixture is heat treated at 300-1,150°C. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
