PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of a secondary battery capable of elevating its temperature rapidly and easily.
SOLUTION: If battery temperature is determined to be lower than a threshold, an inverter control circuit alternately switches an operating point of an alternate current motor between an optimum operating point A and a motor loss increasing point B. At the motor loss increasing point B, since an amplitude of the motor current increases from I1 to I3, a copper loss generated in a three-phase coil of an alternate current motor increases. At the optimum operating point A, since the amplitude of the motor current decreases, the copper loss is reduced. Then, corresponding to periodical increase and decrease of the copper loss, charge and discharge of electric power corresponding to the copper loss is periodically repeated in the battery. Fluctuations of the battery electric current generated by this charge and discharge generate heat in an inner resister of the battery and the temperature of the battery is elevated. The above temperature elevation operation is prohibited according to the fact that the motor temperature becomes equal to or higher than the allowable temperature to guarantee operation efficiency of the alternate current motor.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
