PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alternative circuit device for the pulse operation of a dielectric barrier discharge lamp. SOLUTION: The circuit device comprises a first switch branch and a second switch branch, each of the switch branches including a series circuit consisting of a switch, a current valve and an inductance, and a lamp branch having an inductance connected to the center point of the series circuit, the inductance having a free terminal to be connected to the first terminal of the discharge lamp.
