PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp lighting device, a luminaire, and an illumination system enabling smooth transition from glow discharge at the start to arc discharge with a simple structure. SOLUTION: After an inverter circuit 2 starts operation and outputs rectangular wave voltage, an inverter control circuit 2a turns on a switching element Q4 to start an operation of an igniter circuit 4. A current flows through a resistance R1, a capacitor C4 and a switching element Q4 by the output of the DC power source circuit 1 to charge the capacitor C4. When both end voltage Vc4 of the capacitor C4 rises and reaches threshold voltage of a voltage response element S1, the voltage response element S1 is turned on to discharge the charge of the capacitor C4 and a high voltage pulse boosted by a secondary winding N2 of a pulse transformer PT is overlapped on rectangular wave voltage. The high pressure discharge lamp DL is subjected to insulation breakdown, shifted to arc discharge through glow discharge and stably lit. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
