<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of preventing an image on a display screen from being hidden with user's hand and preventing a malfunction caused by that the user's hand erroneously touchs a touch panel, and to provide an imaging apparatus provided with the display device. <P>SOLUTION: First of all, when a camera 10 is held by a user, it is detected that the camera is held by the user, by a touch sensor 32 disposed in a grip part 18 or a release switch 20 (step S10). Then, an image display region 114 is changed on a liquid crystal monitor 28 so as not to overlap a portion corresponding to a rear side of the grip part 18 (namely, a portion touched with fingers of the user when the grip part 18 is held)(step S12).
