PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear motor which can produce a big drive output without increasing the dimensions of a coil body, and to provide a lens drive employing the linear motor. SOLUTION: The linear motor 7 comprises a yoke 17, a magnet 19, and a coil body 23 where linear driving of the coil body 23 is carried out relatively to the yoke with an electromagnetic force generated by conducting a coil constituting the coil body 23. The coil body 23 is formed by winding a plurality of coil wires 27a and 27b wherein each coil wire 27a, 27b is wound from one end side to the other end side in relative driving direction of the coil body 23 and connected in parallel with a DC power supply 31.
