PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration control structure for a construction, which can reduce entire vibration response, by adjusting a connection degree of each section of the construction, and to provide a vibration control method for the construction. SOLUTION: In the figure, 1 indicates an essential structure of the construction; 2 a rocking and lever mechanism (R & L mechanism) consisting of a rocking wall 3 and rocking columns 5, 6; 4 the center of rocking; 7 a support; 8a, 8b upper boundary beams; and 9a, 9b lower boundary beams, respectively. In an embodiment shown in the figure, the rocking and lever mechanism 2 is mounted in the essential structure 1 which is an existing building. Then by suitably adjusting the degree of inclination of the rocking columns 5, 6, and the rigidity of the rocking center and component members (columns and braces, and walls or braces, columns, and beams), the vibration response of the construction at the time of blowing of strong wind or occurrence of an earthquake, can be reduced.
